Job DescriptionNursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years Stepdown RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Deliver expert nursing care in a combined acuity stepdown unit, supporting patients across ICU, PCU, and medical-surgical levels at an established medical center in Cottonwood, AZ. This travel role offers the opportunity to advance your critical care expertise within a supportive, dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct bedside nursing care to patients with complex medical needs, including sepsis, respiratory failure, post-op complications, and cardiac conditions
- Manage titratable drips such as sedation, vasopressors, and insulin with precision and adherence to protocols
- Monitor cardiac rhythms closely and perform 12-lead EKGs; collaborate with remote monitoring techs
- Float as needed to emergency, med-surg, pediatric, and ICU units within the system ensuring continuity of care across multiple patient populations
- Participate in holiday and weekend shift rotations, including standby coverage during low census periods
- Adhere to dress code standards, wearing approved scrub colors
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current RN license with at least 2 years ICU experience or 1 year ICU plus 1 year PCU/Med-Surg in large facilities
- Certification in BLS and ACLS required
- Successful completion of dysrhythmia competency exam prior to contract signing (minimum 80% pass rate)
- Experience caring for complex critical care patients including those requiring ventilator support
- Ability to manage multiple acuity levels on a single unit, demonstrating strong clinical judgment and skills
- Must comply with radius and facility affiliation restrictions related to CommonSpirit Health network
Shift & Schedule:
- 12-hour shifts (0700-1900 or 1930-0730)
- Weekend rotation every other weekend (Fri/Sat for nights, Sat/Sun for days)
- Holiday shift participation required
- Standby rotation during low census periods
