Job Summary and Qualifications:
The Lead Respiratory Therapist coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. As a vital part of the patient care team, the Lead Respiratory Therapist performs a variety of diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures and monitors patients receiving invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation.

You will also develop and implement the Respiratory Care Plan for your patients. Your duties and responsibilities may include:
- You will be responsible for the application and operation of acute care ventilators used for continuous short and long-term mechanical ventilation.
- You must be self-directed in the absence of the full-time Team Leader.
- You will maintain all department and hospital records and enter accurate information into the hospital computer for the therapy as given.
- You will perform your procedures with care and empathy for our patients.
Requirements:
- Completion of a two-year AMA approved respiratory care program (Associates Degree or equivalent) or Bachelor Degree preferred.
- Graduate of Respiratory Care program accredited by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).
- Minimum 3 years Respiratory Therapy experience; critical care and intubation experience preferred.
- Current Florida Certified (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) licensure
- American Heart Association BLS health care provider required. ACLS, PALS and NRP within 6 months of hire.
- Frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling and moving equipment.
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate actions in volatile situations.
- Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.
What qualifications you will need:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
- Associate Degree
- (CRT-State) Certified Respiratory Therapist, or (RRT/RCP-State) Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner
