Job DescriptionNursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years MS RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Deliver high-quality medical-surgical nursing care on a dynamic 48-bed unit, averaging 27 patients, in a well-equipped hospital setting. This contract opportunity is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses with strong Med/Surg skills who thrive in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive head-to-toe patient assessments with emphasis on orthopedic care.
- Manage IV medications, including Lasix, heparin drips, IV push metoprolol, diltiazem, and insulin (IV or subQ).
- Provide wound care management, including drains and VAC therapy.
- Care for patients with NGT/G tubes and administer parenteral nutrition.
- Manage central lines such as PICC, HD catheters, and midlines.
- Provide care for Foley, nephrostomy, suprapubic catheters, and ostomies.
- Deliver postoperative patient care and perform unit-specific procedures including NG tube insertion.
- Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds to promote patient care excellence.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current RN license with Med/Surg nursing expertise.
- Proficient with IV medication administration and critical nursing procedures.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Familiarity with electronic documentation systems such as Altera/Allscripts Sunrise.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, preferably every other week.
- Flexibility to float to similar Med/Surg units as needed.
