Job DescriptionNursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years Stepdown RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An experienced RN-Stepdown nurse opportunity is available in Uniontown, WA, supporting a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital. This contract role requires a versatile nursing professional skilled in MedSurg and PCU, able to adapt and flex between departments as patient needs arise. Active Washington nursing license is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide patient education based on individual needs using appropriate methods.
- Ensure patient safety by implementing preventative measures, following restraint policies accurately, and documenting appropriately.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the safe operation and troubleshooting of equipment in PCU, Telemetry, and MedSurg areas.
- Follow infection control and isolation protocols with proper documentation and standard precautions.
- Maintain thorough, accurate documentation of patient status, nursing interventions, and patient responses during shifts.
- Accurately document charges and complete physicians orders in a timely fashion, including a 24-hour review when applicable.
- Deliver comprehensive change-of-shift reports to incoming staff.
- Communicate clearly and completely with interdisciplinary departments.
- Report critical lab values promptly according to policy.
- Maintain and restock emergency carts and supplies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Active Washington RN license.
- Experience in MedSurg and PCU/Telemetry nursing.
- Ability to flex across multiple nursing areas.
- Strong clinical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
