Job Description

A growing, sophisticated law firm is seeking a Senior Litigation Attorney to join its expanding New York litigation practice. This role is ideal for a litigation professional who enjoys owning cases, developing strategy, and working directly with clients while collaborating with a highly experienced team.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage complex commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution
  • Handle disputes involving real estate, construction, and other commercial sectors
  • Draft and argue dispositive and non-dispositive motions
  • Take and defend depositions and oversee discovery strategy and execution
  • Appear in court for conferences, hearings, and motion practice
  • Develop case strategy and advise clients on risk, exposure, and resolution options
  • Negotiate settlements and represent clients in mediation or court proceedings
  • Oversee junior attorneys and contribute to team development
  • Collaborate across practice areas on multifaceted matters

Qualifications:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active admission to the New York Bar (required)
  • New Jersey Bar admission is a plus
  • 8 - 12 years of commercial litigation experience
  • Strong background in complex commercial, real estate, or construction disputes
  • Demonstrated experience managing cases independently and interacting directly with clients
  • Proven ability to handle motion practice, depositions, and discovery at a high level

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive base salary: $165,000 – $190,000 (depending on experience and portable business)
