Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve plated meals and buffet-style service with speed and precision
  • Carry serving trays with 8–10 meals efficiently and safely
  • Execute all Steps of Service to ensure a seamless guest experience
  • Set up and break down buffet stations, beverage areas, and event spaces
  • Maintain clean and organized service areas, including bussing and resetting tables
  • Follow instructions from supervisors and adjust quickly to event changes
  • Provide attentive and professional customer service throughout the event
  • Assist with coffee service, boxed lunches, and reception set-ups as needed
  • Handle basic beverage service, including wine pouring and bottle opening

Requirements:

  • Prior banquet or event service experience is required
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy trays and equipment
  • Must speak fluent English and communicate clearly with guests and team members
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work under pressure
  • Flexible schedule with availability on evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Deliver exceptional guest service during upscale banquets, corporate events, and private functions with professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Set up and break down event spaces according to client specifications, ensuring all tables, linens, and décor meet premium presentation standards.
  • Accurately serve multi-course meals and beverages in coordination with culinary and event staff, maintaining timing and flow of service.
  • Anticipate guest needs proactively, providing seamless, personalized service that aligns with luxury hospitality standards.
  • Maintain a polished and professional appearance in compliance with Bluecrew and client uniform guidelines.
  • Uphold food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards in all phases of service.
  • Collaborate with event captains and team members to ensure efficient service execution and guest satisfaction.

***General Requirements***

Event Staff/Food Service

When working in Event Staff or Food Service Position through Bluecrew, you may be expected to do any and all of the following:

  • Working independently or in a team to cook, prepare, serve, or transport food items
  • Engaging with customers while operating a point of sale machine or cash register in a professional and courteous manner
  • Clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, cooking equipment, or other items at the start or end of your shift
  • Work on your feet, either stationary or constantly moving for the full shift
  • Reaching, crouching, bending over, and other physically strenuous activities at times, as required by the immediate supervisor
  • Comfortable working in a busy and at times hectic environment
  • There may be a specific dress code, but if it is not listed, please make sure to wear close-toed shoes and pants.
  • Note for that for any event staff position that requires handling food, you will need to follow GMP guidelines which include keeping your hair up, neatly trimmed fingernails, and you may be required to cover any facial hair.
