ABOUT THE ROLE

A premier senior living community in the Nashville area is seeking an accomplished Memory Care Director to provide strategic and operational leadership for its dementia care program. This key leadership role serves as the community’s subject matter expert in memory care and partners closely with residents, families, and team members to ensure an exceptional experience grounded in dignity, engagement, and clinical excellence.

The Memory Care Director will oversee staff leadership, program development, compliance, and resident assessments across all levels of memory care. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in senior living, a sophisticated understanding of dementia care, and the ability to lead with both compassion and accountability in a service-driven environment.

YOUR TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide overall leadership for dementia care services, programming, and regulatory compliance

  • Lead, develop, and support memory care staff, including caregivers and programming team members

  • Serve as the community’s expert resource on Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias

  • Conduct and interpret cognitive assessments for prospective and current residents, translating findings into individualized service plans

  • Partner with community leadership to align care, operations, and resident engagement strategies

  • Educate and support families throughout the resident journey

  • Oversee hiring, coaching, performance management, and staff development for direct reports

  • Ensure programming reflects best practices in resident engagement, purpose, and quality of life

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, Therapeutic Recreation, Gerontology, or related field

  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on dementia or Alzheimer’s programming experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of management experience in senior living, healthcare, or a comparable setting

  • Strong working knowledge of applicable regulations and dementia care best practices

  • Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills

  • Comfortable using workplace technology and systems

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, as needed
