Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Sonographer at the Ashland City Imaging Center, you will utilize advanced sound wave technology to provide essential diagnostic imaging for our community. This role covers a broad clinical spectrum, from routine fetal monitoring to the evaluation of complex conditions such as gallbladder disease, arterial blockages, and muscle tears. You will be responsible for delivering safe, high-quality care across our general, cardiac (2D echo), vascular, and 3D ultrasound service lines, ensuring every patient receives an accurate diagnosis in a professional environment.

What You Will Do In This Role:

• Perform diverse imaging procedures: Conduct general, cardiac (2D echo), vascular, and 3D ultrasound imaging to evaluate internal structures and diagnose various medical conditions.

• Support specialized diagnostics: Utilize low-power sound waves to examine fetal development, detect muscle tears, and identify gallbladder disease or arterial blockages.

• Manage patient care: Follow physician orders accurately, provide procedure education to patients, and perform both stationary and portable exams as required.

• Maintain technical excellence: Ensure the functionality and cleanliness of all ultrasound equipment and accessories, following strict quality control and HLD protocols.

• Handle clinical documentation: Accurately document patient history and lab values, scan necessary documents, and verify all images within the PACS and Meditech systems.

• Ensure patient safety: Maintain a safe environment by adhering to established imaging protocols and the facility's ICARE values.

What Qualifications You Will Need:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDMS) or ARRT program.

• Experience: At least six months to one year of post-graduate experience is strongly preferred.

• Registries: * (RDMS) Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer must be obtained within one year of hire.

  • (RVT) Registered Vascular Technician must be obtained within one year of hire.

  • Current registry in Adult Echo (RDMS, RDCS, or RCS) or Registry-Eligible with completion within 12 months of hire.

• Certifications: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), CPR, or BCLS Instructor certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

• Professional growth: Ability to maintain all licenses and certifications, with a willingness to add registries as the facility expands its service lines.
