Surgical Specialty - Surgical/Transplant - Travel Registered Nurse

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience.

• 3 months of travel experience is required.

• 3 months of Trauma Level 1 facility is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Oklahoma license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• 6 months gap required between for Travel at Program: RightSourcing Program - OU Health and no current placement allowed at Program: RightSourcing Program - OU Health.

OU Health University of Oklahoma Medical Center is Oklahoma’s only Level I Trauma Center. Clinicians should have strong Trauma Level 1 experience and/or be willing to work with difficult cases. Travelers will be first to float.

Required Skills/Experience: Must have acute care surgical floor experience.

Stepdown/PCU experience.

Preferred Skills/Experience: ENT and/or Transplant Experience

Preceptor and charge experience

Required Credentials: Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.

Preferred Credentials: Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing Board Approved Program.

Unit/Facility Details: This is a med/surg unit. Will not accept OR candidates.

Surgical Transplant is a mixed stepdown and acute care floor which cares for post-surgical kidney, liver and pancreas transplant patients. They also care for pre-transplant patients who are being evaluated for a transplant during their inpatient stay. Patients require close monitoring for infection, rejection, and timely medication delivery. This is NOT a PACU position. The unit is a mix of MS and SD just as the Surgical side is. Any nurse on this floor will either work MS or SD dependent on the availability of nurses.

Floating Requirements: If short and ICU nurses are floated down, they will work the SD patients based on acuity and skill set.

7 days maximum time off
