Job Details
The Director of Data Center Construction is the senior field execution leader responsible for delivering large-scale data center projects from mobilization through turnover.
This role serves as the primary interface between ownership, the general contractor, and tenant leadership onsite—ensuring alignment on schedule, quality, safety, and cost across all active buildings. You will lead a team of project managers while holding contractors accountable for performance in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
What You’ll Own
Full oversight of construction execution across multiple concurrent data center builds
Direct management of GC relationships, performance, and accountability
Leadership of onsite project management teams across shell, core, and site scopes
Delivery against key milestones including structural completion, enclosure, MEP rough-in, and commissioning readiness
Contract execution, including GMP administration, change orders, and payment approvals
Real-time tracking of construction progress, productivity, and earned value metrics
Resolution of field issues, design gaps, and coordination challenges without impacting schedule
Enforcement of safety, quality, and inspection standards across all workstreams
Seamless transition from preconstruction into active field execution
Alignment of construction delivery with commissioning and operational readiness timelines
A Modern Approach to Construction
This role embraces a tech-enabled delivery model where data drives decisions:
Use predictive analytics to anticipate delays, cost variances, and resource constraints
Leverage AI tools to streamline RFIs, submittals, and field reporting workflows
Implement real-time dashboards to track progress and performance across the campus
Support integration of BIM and digital twin technologies into field operations
Continuously improve execution through data insights and lessons learned across phases
What You Bring
18+ years of construction leadership experience, including 10+ years in hyperscale, mission-critical, or large industrial builds
Proven success leading field execution or acting as owner’s representative on large, complex programs
Deep expertise in managing general contractors and large subcontractor workforces
Strong command of GMP, EPC, and lump-sum contract structures
Experience delivering multi-building programs with large onsite labor forces
Advanced understanding of data center construction sequencing and systems
Proficiency with construction scheduling (Primavera P6) and earned value tracking
Demonstrated safety leadership on major job sites
Exceptional ability to influence, align, and lead across a matrixed organization
Preferred:
Experience with top-tier hyperscale data center programs
Familiarity with modular or prefabricated construction strategies
Background in greenfield campus development
Knowledge of Tier III/IV data center standards
Experience scaling teams and processes in high-growth environments
Work Environment:
Fully onsite role in Amarillo, TX
