Job Description

Join our team at a dynamic steel distribution center where you will be an essential part of our operations, including shipping and cutting metal coils for our customers. You will learn various aspects of warehouse operations such as cutting, operating an overhead crane, building skids, packaging, and assisting with machine operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate an overhead crane and sit-down industrial forklift.
• Utilize saws and cutting mechanisms for coils.
• Learn all aspects of receiving and shipping steel products.
• Read work orders and perform all housekeeping duties.
• Maintain flexibility for all assigned duties and start each day with production goals to process, cut, package, quality control, and bundle products for shipping.

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Experience in material handling and warehouse operations.
• Ability to use a tape measure and take accurate measurements.
• Proficiency as a crane operator and forklift driver.
• Experience using an RF scanner.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in a heavy industrial warehouse environment.
• Keen attention to detail for quality control of metal products.
• Experience with building skids.
• Overhead crane experience is a plus

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Franklin Park, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
