Driver / In-Field Mechanic
Job Description
This is a Field Mechanical Repair position. You will NOT be sitting/driving the entire shift. Driving is only a portion of this job.
PLEASE READ – During your first two weeks, you will work Monday through Friday for training, onboarding, and an assessment. After successful completion, you will transition to either a Sunday through Thursday or Tuesday through Saturday schedule, based on performance and shift availability.
This role involves performing vehicle repairs in the field with a fast-paced onboarding process and immediate hands-on work. You will quickly build efficiency and confidence while working as part of a team in real-world conditions.
If these KPI's are not met or you do not display mechanical aptitude, you may be released from this position.
We are looking for In Field Mechanics to maintain our fleet of shared vehicles. This role is ideal for mechanically-inclined operations professionals.
What you’ll do:
- ● Ensure operational compliance of fleet and complete quality checks for deployment
- ● Perform basic maintenance in and out of warehouse
- ● Follow established safety procedures to ensure Lime riders are on the safest vehicles
- ● Support battery management operations by ensuring accurate documentation and
- quality checks are completed
- ● Maintain and abide by safety and hygiene standards within the warehouse
- ● Maximize the number of operational vehicles by efficiently completing tasks assigned
- ● Safely operate a pallet jack or push cart on a frequent basis
- ● Identify issues and perform small repairs in the field on vehicles including but not
- limited to brake adjustments, tire inflation, and vehicle cleaning to ensure vehicles are
- in optimal working condition when needed
- ● Monitor designated zones by conducting on-foot patrols of the local area to ensure
- vehicle parking compliance and tidiness in accordance with city requests
- ● Detect and report uncommon situations related to on the ground service and product
- ● Occasionally assist customers in field by providing support related to Lime vehicles
- ● Safely operate a van to assist with the deployment and retrieval of Lime electric
- vehicles within the local market as needed
- ● Safely operate a bike, cargo bike or e-scooters to assist with the deployment and
- retrieval of Lime electric vehicles within the local market as needed
- ● Additional job related tasks as assigned
About you:
- ● Must be at least 21 years of age with a valid driver license and good driving record
- ● Previous experience in a similar role involving vehicle maintenance preferred
- ● Ability to lift up to 50lbs on a frequent basis required
- ● Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform quick and efficient repairs
- ● Self-motivated with and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- ● Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage daily tasks
- ● A safety-oriented mindset, capable of conducting rigorous quality checks
- ● Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with team members•
- Adaptability to work outdoors and indoors in line with company needs and objectives
- ● Ability to safely ride a bike and other Lime vehicles
- *Disclaimer: To ensure the safety of our drivers Dual-Facing AI Dash Cams that record the road and inside the cab have been installed in our vehicles. As a requirement of this position,
- a waiver accepting acknowledgement of the Dash Cam in Lime’s vehicle must be signed.
Attendance Policy:
- Associates are permitted to clock in up to 5 minutes before their scheduled shift start time and up to 5 minutes after it begins. When it comes to calling out, we understand that emergencies can happen, but missing more than 10% of your scheduled hours in a given week may lead to progressive disciplinary action (verbal warning, first written warning, final warning, then termination).

Driving
When working on a Driving Job through Bluecrew, you must be 21 years and older, are expected to bring a valid driver’s license and proof of personal auto insurance to your assignment, and meet our motor vehicle record (MVR) and drug screening standards.
In addition you may be expected to do any and all of the following:
- Operate a large or small vehicle on highways, side streets, neighborhoods, and other motor ways in a safe, courteous, and legal manner; including box trucks, flat beds, vans, SUVs, or other motor vehicles.
- Working on your feet in between stops or when loading the vehicle in preparation for deliveries
- Safely lifting and moving heavy boxes or other heavy items, up to 50 pounds in weight
- Reaching, crouching, bending over, and other physically strenuous activities as required by the immediate supervisor
- Comfortable working around large trucks, pallet jacks, or other moving equipment as needed
- Interfacing with customers and managers in a professional and courteous manner
- There may be a specific dress code, but if it is not listed, please make sure to wear close-toed shoes and pants.
