An exciting opportunity is available for a skilled Itinerant Music Therapist to provide specialized therapeutic support within a school setting in New Market, Maryland. This contract position offers the chance to work one day per week, making a meaningful impact on students well-being and development through the power of music therapy.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized music therapy sessions to students with diverse needs across various school locations
- Collaborate with educators, counselors, and families to design and implement effective therapeutic plans
- Monitor and document student progress to ensure goals are met and adjust interventions as necessary
- Maintain compliance with state licensing requirements and school policies
- Participate in relevant meetings and professional development opportunities
Qualifications:
- Current Maryland Music Therapy licensure required
- Proven experience working as a music therapist in educational settings, preferably with children or adolescents
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with students, staff, and families
- Ability to work autonomously while managing scheduling as an itinerant therapist
- Adept at customizing therapeutic strategies to meet individual student needs
Location: New Market, Maryland (schools within the district will be assigned)
Contract Type: Part-time, One Day per Week
Duration: Immediate start through June 5, 2026
