Job DescriptionMaster's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A dynamic opportunity is available for an Occupational Therapist specializing in the educational setting. This travel position is based in New Haven, CT, offering the chance to work within schools, supporting student development and enhancing their ability to perform everyday activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments for students to identify their functional needs and develop individualized therapy plans.
- Implement therapeutic interventions aimed at improving students fine motor skills, sensory processing, and adaptive behaviors.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to support inclusive education and accommodate diverse learning needs.
- Monitor progress and adjust treatment strategies to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with school policies and healthcare regulations.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist with experience in school-based settings.
- Strong knowledge of pediatric and educational occupational therapy practices.
- Ability to create engaging, effective interventions tailored to childrens developmental levels.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with school staff, families, and students.
- Willingness and flexibility to work as a traveling therapist, adapting to various school environments.
- Familiarity with federal and state educational laws related to students with special needs is preferred.
