Job DescriptionNursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years Stepdown RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Join a dynamic healthcare environment located in Prescott Valley, AZ, providing specialized nursing care within a combined acuity stepdown unit. This travel nursing role demands strong clinical skills and offers the opportunity to work across ICU, PCU, and medical-surgical levels of care in a 10-bed Multi Care Unit.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver expert nursing care to patients with complex conditions such as sepsis, respiratory arrest, DKA, post-op complications, and more.
- Administer and titrate drips including sedation, vasopressors, and insulin, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with Respiratory Therapy for ventilator, BiPAP, and CPAP support.
- Utilize bedside cardiac monitors and interpret 12-lead EKGs as part of continuous patient assessment.
- Serve as charge nurse when needed, managing patient care assignments across MST, Pediatric, and Acuity Adaptable units.
- Support floating assignments to the Emergency Care MST & Pediatric units and off-campus ICU/PCU to maintain skill competency.
- Participate in weekend, holiday rotations, and standby call shifts as required.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Minimum 2 years ICU experience required (or 1 year ICU plus 1 year PCU/Med-Surg in larger facilities).
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Proven ability to titrate drips and manage complex patient care.
- Must pass dysrhythmia exam with a minimum 80% score within two attempts prior to contract signing.
- No prior full-time, part-time, or PRN employment within the past year at any CommonSpirit-associated facility within 50 miles.
- Flexibility to work 12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:00 or 19:30 - 07:30) with weekend and holiday rotations.
