Job Description

A nationally recognized engineering consulting firm is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer PE to support complex building system projects in Colorado Springs. This role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio including laboratories, healthcare facilities, manufacturing environments, higher education campuses, and commercial developments, while contributing throughout the full project lifecycle from concept through construction and post-occupancy.


Electrical Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Lead electrical system design from initial concept through construction administration and post-occupancy evaluation
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget
  • Conduct site visits, field assessments, and evaluations of existing electrical systems and infrastructure
  • Ensure compliance with applicable building, electrical, and energy codes, including NFPA and other industry standards
  • Develop and document designs within a BIM (Revit) environment and utilize related engineering software tools
  • Perform detailed engineering calculations and prepare construction documentation
  • Review the work of junior engineers, providing mentorship and identifying development opportunitie
  • Support project coordination efforts, ensuring alignment with client goals and project requirements

Electrical Engineer Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical design within a consulting or design-build environment
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain licensure
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, building codes, energy codes, and NFPA standards
  • Proficiency with design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, SKM PTW, or similar tools
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and with clients
  • Demonstrated project management capabilities and strong analytical/problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated with a collaborative mindset and interest in mentoring junior engineers
